FOB organizes awareness on Int l Yoga Day

DAMBUK, JUN 19:

The Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Govt of India, Ministry of I & B, Pasighat today organized a rally cum awareness programme to educate the rural people about yoga as well as upcoming International Yoga Day-2019 at Govt Secondary School, Bizari under Dambuk circle.

The programme began with a mass awareness rally to sensitize the villagers about Yoga and International Yoga Day (IYD) to be celebrated on June 21.

Tony Pertin, headmaster of the school explained the students and other participants about the importance of Yoga in today s modern lifestyle. Speaking about IYD, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took initiatives in 2015 and extended yoga for world event and now the entire world has realized the advantages of yoga as well as India s ancient rich cultural practice. He also educated the audience about common yoga protocol and said everyone should make sure that yoga must be exercised in their regular practice and activity.

Mihir Kumar Jha, FPO, FOB Pasighat said that yoga is like a practical medicine, so if anyone is doing yoga regularly not all the Aasanas but some basic Aasans like Anulom-Bilom, Kapalbhati, Bhramari etc their body and face would develop gloriously and their internal organs become stronger. He appealed to the participants to assimilate yoga practice in daily life.

The yoga expert also demonstrated yoga Aasans before the participants where some were practiced the various yoga Aasans with resource person during the programme

Quiz competition, Prize distribution to the winners of quiz competition were the other activities held on the day.

At Seppa, the FOB Bomdila organized a pre-publicity campaign IYD-2019 at Seppa. The main aim of the campaign was to create awareness among the common people about the importance and benefits of Yoga in daily life.

On the occasion awareness rally, Quiz competition, Yoga practice session and mass meeting were conducted in which the resource person explained the importance of Yoga in leading a healthy life. He demonstrated various asanas and also made the gathering practice Pranayam and kapal Bharti etc.

In Tezu, the FOB Tezu unit organized one mini Workshop-cum- Yoga programme on the theme Happiness at Telluliang Village in Lohit district.

A yoga instructor from the Art of Living explained in details about various merits of practicing yoga. The HOO, FOB, Tezu selected some special participants who were either mentally depressed or living with diseases like high blood pressure, asthma and diabetes etc on the occasion.
